Payroll Specialist | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Cadillac that are seeking skilled Payroll Specialists. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees, including hourly and salaried.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, commissions, and deductions in compliance with company policy and federal/state regulations.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including W-2s, 941s, and state unemployment.
• Reconcile payroll data, general ledger accounts, and benefit deductions.
• Administer timekeeping system, ensuring accurate employee hours and resolving discrepancies.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax information.
• Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure seamless payroll processing and data integrity.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience processing payroll for 500+ employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar enterprise payroll systems.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, particularly for multi-state manufacturing operations.
• Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, including overtime calculations for various shift structures.
• Experience with timekeeping systems integrated with payroll, preferably in a production setting.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
