Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for various materials and applications.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables to meet production requirements and quality standards.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of welding systems and equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME).
• Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and quality control.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of products.
• Monitor welding performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
• Proven experience in welding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW) and their applications.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, materials science, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced NDT methods beyond basic ultrasonic and radiography.
• - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to welding processes.
• - Certification in a specialized welding process (e.g., robotic welding, laser welding).
• - Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques involving welding.
• - Experience with simulation software for weld process modeling and optimization.
