Salary Range: $48,000 - $71,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, parts, and components.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately, including pass/fail status and measured values, into quality systems.
  • Identify, segregate, and tag non-conforming materials according to established procedures.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective or out-of-specification parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards to ensure proper inspection criteria.
  • Maintain organized inspection records and material traceability documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated skill in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
  • Understanding of quality control principles, sampling plans (e.g., ANSI/ASQ Z1.4), and defect classification.
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results and generate non-conformance reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional discrepancies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CMM or optical inspection equipment
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems
  • Experience with common ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
