Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling machines using CAM software.
  • Analyze engineering blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to determine machining processes.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters (feeds/speeds).
  • Perform tool path simulations and collision detection to ensure program efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with machinists and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and refine programs on the shop floor.
  • Create and maintain accurate program documentation, including setup sheets and tool lists.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance machining efficiency and reduce cycle times.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
  • Strong understanding and ability to write/edit G-code and M-code.
  • Demonstrated experience in CNC milling machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool selection, workholding strategies, and machining parameters.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced CNC simulation software (e.g., Vericut).
  • Proficiency in a leading CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for design modification or fixture creation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience programming multi-axis (4 or 5-axis) CNC mills.
