Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA.
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures specific to manufacturing operations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Manage environmental permits, waste streams, and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, prepare reports, and submit necessary documentation to regulatory agencies.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state-specific EHS regulations (e.g., machine guarding, LOTO, confined space, hazardous waste management, air permits).
  • Proven ability to conduct hazard assessments, risk analyses, incident investigations (including root cause analysis), and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience with developing and delivering EHS training programs and managing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, OHST, or CHMM is highly preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
  • Proficiency with EHS management software platforms (e.g., Cority, Gensuite, Intelex).
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to support diverse workforces.
  • HAZWOPER certification or experience managing hazardous waste streams.
  • Experience conducting industrial hygiene monitoring (e.g., noise, air quality).
