Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment.
• Load and unload workpieces and electrodes, ensuring proper alignment and fixturing.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine job specifications.
• Adjust EDM machine parameters such as power, pulse duration, and gap voltage to achieve desired results.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or production issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of EDM machines and work areas.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality inspection.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for machine setup, tooling adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of G-code and M-code for machine operation and program interpretation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CMM or other advanced metrology equipment.
• Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software for part visualization or fixture design.
• Proven ability to perform minor preventative maintenance and advanced troubleshooting on EDM machinery.
• Experience contributing to continuous improvement or process optimization initiatives.
