CNC Machinist | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and program CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into CNC machinery.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation and part quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and maintain a clean work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
• Experience with tool selection, work holding, and offset adjustments.
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures and part inspection.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks)
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
• Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives
