EHS Manager | Grandville, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to standards.
• Investigate all EHS incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Provide comprehensive EHS training to employees at all levels, covering topics like hazard communication, emergency response, and machine guarding.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal, chemical safety, and environmental permitting to minimize environmental impact.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, prepare regulatory reports, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lead and participate in EHS committees, fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the manufacturing facility.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
• 5-7+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and programs.
• Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills with the ability to influence and foster a robust safety culture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation
• Experience implementing or auditing ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
• Demonstrated experience integrating EHS initiatives with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement programs
• Proficiency in advanced data analytics for EHS performance trending and predictive modeling
