Staff Accountant | Zeeland, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Zeeland region seeking Staff Accountants. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, accruals, and reclassifications.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Support external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Experience with inventory costing and analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
