Quoting Specialist | Kentwood, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely quotes for customers based on specifications.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production to gather necessary information for quotes.
• Maintain and update pricing databases and quoting tools.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding quote status, inquiries, and revisions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest alternative materials or processes.
• Review and interpret customer requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs).

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years experience in a quoting, estimating, or sales support role within manufacturing.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate cost calculations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external collaboration.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and quoting software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP/CRM systems specific to manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and quote generation.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and terminology (e.g., CNC machining, welding, assembly).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation skills for supplier interaction or customer discounts.
