Salary Range: $86,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Manistee that are seeking Purchasing Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation of contracts and performance evaluation.
• Oversee inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize carrying costs while ensuring material availability.
• Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering their growth and development.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and sales to forecast material needs and align purchasing activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and drive performance improvements.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and material requirements.
