Salary Range: $124,000 - $173,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Kalamazoo region seeking Controllers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to achieve financial targets.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Provide financial leadership and support to the plant operations team, including analysis of production efficiency and inventory management.
• Prepare and present comprehensive financial statements and reports to senior management.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA certification preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team
