Advanced Quality Engineer | Newaygo, MI
Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced quality control plans and inspection procedures.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for complex quality issues.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis tools to monitor and improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality is integrated into new product development and process improvements.
- Conduct supplier quality audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior quality engineers and manufacturing personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Represent the quality department in cross-functional project teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards and customer requirements.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and other quality tools.
- Proficient in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems.
Bonus Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
- Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Familiarity with specific industry quality standards (e.g., AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485).
- Proficiency in a programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
