Incoming Inspection Technician | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $43,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials and components.
• Verify that received materials match purchase orders and engineering specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure proper calibration.
• Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years experience in quality control or manufacturing inspection
• Proficiency with various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM operation and programming.
• Familiarity with various metrology tools beyond basic gages (e.g., optical comparators, vision systems).
• Basic understanding of GD&T principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Prior experience in a cleanroom or controlled environment manufacturing setting.
