Payroll Specialist | Spring Lake, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Spring Lake seeking Payroll Specialists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.
• Administer and reconcile employee benefits deductions.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
• Assist with year-end payroll processing and W-2 distribution.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience processing payroll for a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including FLSA and multi-state tax laws.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and timekeeping systems, with experience managing complex pay structures.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and experience with payroll reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret collective bargaining agreements or union contracts related to payroll.
