Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel on laser welding equipment and processes.
• Evaluate and recommend new laser welding technologies and equipment.
• Monitor and analyze laser weld data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in laser welding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weld quality analysis techniques.
• Experience with process optimization, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with fiber laser welding systems
• Knowledge of metallography and material characterization techniques
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Ability to program and troubleshoot robotic systems
