Salary Range: $58,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Holt seeking Lead Machinists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of machinists, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machinery and conventional machine tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues, ensuring high-quality part production.
• Develop and implement process improvements to optimize machining efficiency and reduce waste.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machine tools and equipment.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to interpret blueprints and specifications for complex components.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting various machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, CNC machines)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, tooling, and machining processes for a range of materials
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience, including training and mentoring junior machinists
• Expertise in performing quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation
• Certification in a specialized machining technique (e.g., EDM, laser cutting)
• Proven ability to mentor junior machinists or lead training initiatives
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
