Salary Range: $62,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Coopersville that are seeking skilled Lead Machinists. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of machinists, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machinery and conventional machine tools.
• Troubleshoot complex machining issues and implement effective solutions to optimize production.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to ensure accurate part fabrication.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all machining equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and product design.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure manufactured parts meet specified tolerances and standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience leading a team, including task delegation and performance coaching
• Expertise in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
• Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery (mills, lathes)
• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machining issues and optimizing processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and reporting

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation
• Certification in a specialized machining technique (e.g., EDM, laser cutting)
• Proven ability to mentor junior machinists and contribute to skill development
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
