Materials Manager | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement materials management strategies.
• Oversee inventory control, planning, and procurement activities.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Optimize material flow and logistics to support production schedules.
• Lead and develop a team of materials management professionals.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Analyze material costs and identify cost reduction opportunities.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in materials management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record in inventory management, demand forecasting, and production planning
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their application in manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement methodology.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly SAP or Oracle.
• Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics and international trade regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
