Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Wyoming that are seeking skilled Laser Weld Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure weld quality and manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
• Evaluate and recommend new laser welding technologies and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and applications within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of laser welding principles, including laser types, beam delivery systems, and process parameters.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot welding defects, optimize processes, and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld symbols.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ultrafast lasers and their application in manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with in-situ monitoring techniques for weld quality and process control.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement advanced data analytics for process optimization and fault detection.
• Knowledge of material science, particularly related to dissimilar material joining and high-temperature alloys.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
