Salary Range: $86,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kalamazoo that are seeking skilled Purchasing Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation.
• Oversee inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials to support production schedules.
• Lead and mentor a team of purchasing agents and buyers.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to forecast material needs and identify new suppliers.
• Analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Implement and maintain purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record of cost reduction and supplier negotiation
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and purchasing software
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
• C.P.M. or CPSM certification preferred
