Staff Accountant | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Allegan seeking Staff Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, accruals, and reclassifications.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Support the annual audit process by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
• Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with inventory costing methods and reconciliation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system like SAP or Oracle.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• CPA candidate or actively pursuing certification.
• Experience with inventory costing methods (e.g., standard costing, FIFO, LIFO).
