EHS Manager | Whitehall, MI
Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular EHS audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
- Provide EHS training to employees at all levels, including new hire orientation and specialized topic training.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal according to regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the facility's emergency response plan, including regular drills and coordination with external agencies.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are highly preferred.
Bonus Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems.
- Proficiency in using EHS management software (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Sphera).
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish.
