Salary Range: $54,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Grand Rapids seeking Estimators who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares cost estimates for new products, special projects, and engineering changes.
• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
• Collaborates with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate quotes.
• Evaluates vendor quotes and submittals to ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements.
• Identifies and quantifies cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Presents prepared estimates to management, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities.
• Maintains accurate records of estimates, bids, and project costs for future reference and analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong proficiency in using estimating software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both written and verbal.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost tracking and analysis.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for reviewing designs.
• Ability to speak Spanish or other relevant languages.
