EHS Manager | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, and develop corrective action plans.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely reporting of all EHS incidents.
• Provide EHS training and education to employees at all levels, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal programs and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of manufacturing operations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and systems.
• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and their application to EHS.
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish, relevant to the local workforce.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering EHS training programs.
• Strong track record of fostering a positive safety culture and employee engagement.
