Salary Range: $59,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and write CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis mills using CAM software.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for optimal performance.
• Perform post-processing of CAM programs and verify G-code for accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes.
• Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and other relevant production documentation.
• Participate in the design and fabrication of custom workholding and fixturing solutions.
• Conduct first-article inspections and make necessary program adjustments to meet part specifications.
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times and improve quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM) for 3-axis and 5-axis milling.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming and manual editing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with various CNC machine controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens).
• Knowledge of tooling selection, cutting parameters, and workholding strategies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).
• Proficiency in a secondary programming language (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation or data analysis.
• Experience with 5-axis machining or complex geometric part programming.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) on engineering drawings.
