Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit CNC programs for lathes using CAD/CAM software.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine machining processes.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and inserts for optimal performance.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct errors before production.
  • Optimize machine parameters such as feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and improve processes.
  • Document program changes, setup sheets, and tooling lists for production.
  • Stay current with new programming techniques and machining technologies.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in CNC Lathe programming using G-code and M-code.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM) for generating toolpaths.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials for turning operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC lathes.
