Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and assemblies.
• Performs engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate designs into production.
• Conducts design reviews and implements feedback for continuous improvement.
• Selects and specifies materials, components, and manufacturing methods.
• Troubleshoots and resolves design-related issues during production.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining).
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex requirements into practical designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) to optimize designs.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond core expertise (e.g., additive manufacturing, advanced composites).
• Demonstrated ability to utilize CAD automation and scripting (e.g., Python, DriveWorks) to enhance design efficiency.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and their integration into the design process.
