Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking Packaging Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test packaging for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging meets product, marketing, and manufacturing requirements.
• Optimize packaging processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Conduct material testing and analysis to ensure packaging integrity and compliance with regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues during production.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications, standards, and documentation.
• Evaluate and implement new packaging technologies and materials.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging development, engineering, or manufacturing within a high-volume production environment.
• Demonstrated experience with various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, corrugated, flexibles) and their properties, processing, and testing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and specification creation.
• Strong understanding of packaging machinery, automation, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations (e.g., FDA, ISTA), and quality control principles for packaging.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software for packaging design.
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with ISTA testing procedures and packaging validation.
