Salary Range: $84,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Mattawan seeking Laser Weld Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and procure laser welding fixtures and tooling.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for laser welding equipment and processes on the production floor.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure weldability and quality standards are met.
• Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.
• Train production personnel on laser welding techniques and safety procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Welding, or equivalent)
• 3+ years experience in laser welding processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and material science, particularly as it relates to weldability and defect analysis
• Proven ability to program, set up, and troubleshoot laser welding systems (e.g., fiber, Nd:YAG)
• Experience with weld joint design, fixture design, and process optimization for high-volume production
• Familiarity with quality control methods and inspection techniques for laser welds (e.g., NDT, destructive testing)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic automation and programming
• Knowledge of metallurgy and material science, particularly with various metal alloys
• Familiarity with optical systems and laser beam delivery components
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement methodologies
