Inspection Technician | Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Document inspection results accurately and completely, including non-conformances.
• Initiate and support the investigation of non-conforming materials and products.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain inspection equipment and tools in good working order and calibration.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and quality procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience in quality control or manufacturing inspection
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or non-conformities

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification
• Experience with a variety of inspection tools and software (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, Faro Arms)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting GD&T
• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Experience training junior technicians
