HR Generalist | Muskegon, MI

Salary Range: $62,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are working with companies in Muskegon that are adding HR Generalists to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
• Manage full employee life cycle from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and company policies.
• Conduct employee relations investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions.
• Develop and deliver HR training programs for employees and management.
• Process payroll and maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
• Support performance management processes, including reviews and goal setting.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and HRIS administration.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with employees at all levels.
• Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Familiarity with union relations or collective bargaining agreements
