Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and document laser welding processes for new and existing products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laser welding equipment and processes.
- Specify, install, and qualify new laser welding systems and associated tooling.
- Monitor and analyze weld quality, implementing corrective actions to meet specifications.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams on weld joint design and fixturing.
- Provide technical support and training to production operators and technicians.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for laser welding yield, quality, and efficiency.
Recommended Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of laser welding technologies (fiber, YAG, CO2) and associated equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weldability of various metals (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys).
- Proven experience in laser weld process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, defect identification, and implementation of corrective actions for weld quality issues.
- Experience with CAD software and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles related to laser weldment design.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB) for automated laser welding systems.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for designing weld fixtures and tooling.
- Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods for weld quality assessment (e.g., visual, dye penetrant, X-ray).
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
