Shop Manager | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop floor operations, ensuring efficient workflow and production schedules are met.
• Manage and mentor a team of production staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage material procurement to ensure timely availability of resources.
• Maintain quality control standards and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime and waste.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to optimize processes and resolve challenges.
• Manage the shop's budget, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing operations management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of production processes and quality control.
• Proficient in inventory management and supply chain principles.
• Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Experience with safety regulations and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
• - Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• - Strong understanding of quality control methodologies
