Supplier Quality Engineer | Battle Creek, MI
Salary Range: $82,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supplier quality improvement programs.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and purchasing to establish supplier quality requirements for new product development.
- Monitor and report on key supplier quality performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reliability.
- Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions and other quality documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
- 3+ years experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and tools (e.g., PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC)
- Proven experience conducting supplier audits and driving corrective actions
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (GD&T proficiency preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for supplier collaboration and internal stakeholder management
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with advanced quality planning (AQP) tools such as PPAP, APQP, and FMEA.
- ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSGB, CSQP).
- Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to the global supply chain (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, German).
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and quality management software.
