Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Wayland region seeking Estimators. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing manufacturing projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary information for bids.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Present detailed estimates and proposals to management and clients.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and opportunities within cost estimates.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately calculate material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with sales, engineering, and production teams.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for data extraction and analysis.
• Certification in a relevant field such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., macros, pivot tables, VBA) for complex data manipulation.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for visualizing and analyzing component designs.
