Cost Accountant | Spring Lake, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Spring Lake seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard product costs.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, overhead, and materials.
• Perform variance analysis for production costs and provide commentary.
• Support inventory valuation and reconciliation activities.
• Participate in the annual budget and forecasting processes for manufacturing.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive their implementation.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA for data manipulation and reporting
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software
