Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Otsego that are seeking skilled Cost Accountants. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for all products and processes.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and provide detailed reports.
• Support inventory valuation and cycle count programs.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, focusing on cost elements.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and recommend process improvements.
• Perform make-or-buy analysis and evaluate capital expenditure requests.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control procedures related to cost accounting.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization
• Advanced Excel modeling skills (e.g., VBA, Power Query)
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
• Knowledge of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) principles
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
