Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Hudsonville that are seeking CNC Lathe Programmers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for Lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and collision avoidance.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and optimize machining operations.
  • Create and maintain tooling lists, setup sheets, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for programming and machining processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM).
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and metrology.
  • Ability to select appropriate tooling, workholding, and cutting parameters.
  • Knowledge of various materials and their machining properties.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools and methodologies (e.g., CMM operation, GD&T application).
  • Ability to perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with multi-axis lathes or live tooling applications.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of identifying and implementing process efficiencies.
