Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for Lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices.
- Optimize cutting parameters (speeds, feeds, depth of cut) for efficiency and tool life.
- Perform post-processing and generate machine-readable G-code.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and refine programs.
- Document and maintain CNC programs and associated setup sheets.
- Implement process improvements to enhance part quality and production rates.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM) for generating G-code.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of CNC lathe operations, tooling, workholding, and material properties.
- Experience with G-code and M-code programming, including advanced functions and subroutines.
- Ability to perform toolpath simulation and verification to optimize processes and prevent collisions.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam for complex surfacing).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs for cycle time reduction or improved part quality.
- Familiarity with different control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak) and their specific programming nuances.
- Knowledge of tooling selection for various materials and part geometries, including advanced cutting tool technologies.
- Experience with in-process gauging and quality control techniques on CNC lathes.
