Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking CNC Swiss Lathe Operators who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Perform in-process quality checks using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators).
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machine parameters to maintain part specifications and optimize performance.
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts, ensuring proper material handling and part identification.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Monitor machine operation for unusual sounds or behaviors, addressing issues promptly to prevent damage or defects.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years experience operating CNC Swiss-style lathes
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and G-code
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• Ability to perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools
• Experience with tool changes, offsets, and minor program edits

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker) for programming and simulation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex machine and tooling issues.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC Swiss lathes.
• Experience with quality inspection tools and methodologies beyond basic calipers/micrometers (e.g., optical comparators, CMMs).
• Demonstrated ability to train junior operators or contribute to process improvement initiatives.
