Salary Range: $59,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for manufacturing projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and production teams to gather necessary information for quoting.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and specialized services.
• Present detailed cost breakdowns and rationale to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities or alternative materials/processes.
• Maintain and update a database of historical cost data and pricing trends.
• Participate in proposal reviews and contract negotiations, providing technical estimating support.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various departments.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost tracking and analysis.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting technical drawings.
• Project management experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
