HR Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in East Lansing that are seeking HR Managers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with manufacturing operations.
  • Manage full recruitment lifecycle for all plant positions, from entry-level to management.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance and competitiveness within the industry.
  • Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations within a manufacturing context.
  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to drive productivity and employee development.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for manufacturing employees, focusing on safety, skills, and compliance.
  • Manage HR information systems and maintain accurate employee records for the manufacturing facility.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA).
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS utilization.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices within a manufacturing setting.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with HRIS implementation and optimization
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Proven track record in employee relations and conflict resolution within a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their application to HR processes
