HR Manager | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with manufacturing goals.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for all manufacturing positions.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
  • Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Manage HRIS and maintain accurate employee records.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws and HR best practices in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with HRIS implementation and optimization, particularly in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues, including union negotiations if applicable.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with HRIS implementation and optimization
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish or another common language in manufacturing settings
