Incoming Inspection Technician | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
  • Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances, using designated forms and software.
  • Initiate and process non-conforming material reports (NCMRs) and communicate discrepancies to relevant departments (e.g., Quality, Engineering, Purchasing).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures and work instructions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use various inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, sampling plans).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CMM operation and/or programming.
  • Familiarity with PPAP submissions and requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
  • IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent experience.
