Plant Manager | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $137,000 - $188,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily plant operations, ensuring efficient production and adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, and sales, to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address deviations and drive continuous improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations
  • Proven track record of achieving production targets and improving efficiency
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for production planning and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and optimizing preventative maintenance programs.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or a related field.
