Salary Range: $51,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Otsego region seeking Payroll Specialists. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.
• Administer and reconcile all payroll-related benefits and deductions.
• Prepare and submit federal and state payroll tax filings.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax forms.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting on payroll-related matters.
• Generate payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience processing payroll in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, including FLSA and multi-state tax regulations.
• Proficient in using payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG) and HRIS systems.
• Strong understanding of general ledger reconciliation related to payroll.
• Experience with timekeeping systems and their integration with payroll.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)
• Familiarity with union contracts and their impact on payroll
• Certification such as FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
• Experience with time and attendance systems specific to manufacturing environments (e.g., Kronos, ADP Workforce Now)
