Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser welding fixtures and tooling.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Conduct material characterization and mechanical testing of laser welded joints.
• Generate and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions and specifications.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel on laser welding equipment and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, Welding) or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in laser parameter optimization, fixture design, and process validation.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weld defect analysis for various alloys.
• Proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis of weld joints and tooling.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with other welding processes (e.g., TIG, MIG) or additive manufacturing.
• Familiarity with optical systems and laser safety regulations.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of material science, particularly metallurgy of common manufacturing alloys.
• CAD software experience (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture design or path programming.
