Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
- Design and implement laser welding fixtures and tooling.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
- Conduct material characterization and mechanical testing of laser welded joints.
- Generate and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions and specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel on laser welding equipment and processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, Welding) or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in laser parameter optimization, fixture design, and process validation.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weld defect analysis for various alloys.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis of weld joints and tooling.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with other welding processes (e.g., TIG, MIG) or additive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with optical systems and laser safety regulations.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of material science, particularly metallurgy of common manufacturing alloys.
- CAD software experience (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture design or path programming.
