Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across DeWitt seeking Lead Machinists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of machinists, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machinery and conventional machine tools.
• Interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to produce precision parts.
• Oversee quality control processes, ensuring manufactured parts meet exact specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues, including tool wear, material defects, and machine malfunctions.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all machining equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in precision machining within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to set up, operate, and program CNC mills and lathes.
• Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of various metal properties, cutting tools, and machining processes.
• Experience in leading or mentoring junior machinists and contributing to process improvements.
• Proficient in using and calibrating a wide range of metrology and inspection equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation
• Certification or advanced training in CNC machining, metallurgy, or a related field
• Proven ability to mentor junior machinists and contribute to skill development within a team
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Familiarity with quality control processes and metrology equipment
