Salary Range: $61,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Norton Shores that are seeking Lead Machinists. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily machining operations and workflow.
• Mentor and train junior machinists on techniques and safety.
• Program and set up complex CNC machinery for production runs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with machinery and processes.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to specifications for machined parts.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to optimize manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Strong understanding of GD&T and its application in manufacturing
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of machinists
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines.
• Certification in a relevant field (e.g., NIMS, AWS).
• Proven ability to mentor junior machinists or apprentices.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience in a job shop environment with diverse materials and projects.
